Paul says: Lee and I started blogging to create our writing platforms. We had each written books and, when trying to get a literary agent, we realized that we has a pretty thin resume. So we took up writing on the internet and the rest is history. (We are still looking for a literary agent, if anyone is interested.) Now a days, we teach classes on blogging and have a loyal readership (you).  I cannot see why anyone who aspires to be an author or anyone with a business, for that matter, does not create your website.

In our partnership, I am the tech guy. It is my job to be the websites builder and designer and updater and SEO specialist. Let me give you a little secret; It’s not that hard. The companies that work with you are multileveled, offering you everything from do it yourself templates to full scale web design with flash and all kinds of doohickeys. In our case, I have found a template that is easily scalable so that I do not need to do any high level coding to make CoupleDumb look the way I want it to.

There are a few good reasons to start your own website. The world is getting smaller and smaller. The savvy person, not just business people, need to understand this. In the world of business, e-commerce is all-important. This same thing can be said for e-relationships. Blogging, Facebook and Twitter are all symptoms of our relationships spreading out over this world. We no longer think of friends, businesses, or communities as something local.

I do not think that I need to convince you of the good of having your own site. I think it is more a matter of easy. Yes, it is easy and you can do it now.
