C E R Contest
A relationship is a connectedness. This could be between spouses, lovers, a parent with a child, or a human with God. With this definition put forward, CoupleDumb is looking for the best expressions of a relationship in three categories: prose, poetry, and art. Each month, we will select the best of each category and post them on a special winners’ page, giving the artist as much exposure as we can.
Criteria:
Every piece will be judged on its representation of a healthy relationship. Can you create something that reflects the love, romance, and eternity of a relationship without the dysfunction? Expletives are fine but, please, no pictures or pornographic content. All submissions need to include Name, E-mail, City, and State.
For prose: It must be fiction of less than 2000 words. English only and submit it in Microsoft Word, Works or notepad formats.
For poetry: It can be in any form as long as it is less than 500 words. English only and submit it in Microsoft Word, Works or notepad formats.
For art: You must be able to reproduce it is JPG format. File size must be less than 2MB.
All work must be original.
Please make submission to Expressions@coupledumb.com no later than March 23, 2009 for consideration into the April posting.
Prize: First prize in each category will be posted on its own page on the CoupleDumb site for the entire month of April. Artists will also receive a fresh off the presses CoupleDumb Dysaffirmation shirt!
Please see the poem that is posted for an example that inspired this contest. As writers, we know that recognition and acknowledgment is hard to come by but, as a community of artists, we can support the spark in each of us.
