The purpose of Relaxation Thursdays is to create some healthy habits to keep you calm and relaxed. One of the most insidious habits we have is negative self talk. We create a certain tape in our head that we run on an endless loop. The tape contains such oldies but goodies as, ‘It’s never going to work out’, and who can forget, ‘It’s too good to be true!’ That Inner Nazi has something to say about everything and everyone. The negativity that we generate comes from this very small space in our mind that has convinced us that the most we can hope for in life is to be content for a moment. Anything else is greedy and impossible.

Life happens. Sometimes, when life is lifing at you, it’s seems so hard to feel safe. You feel small, invisible, buffeted around and generally a victim of the whims of fate. You wake up thinking, ‘what next?’ Or you wait for the other shoe to fall. In a marriage, you will have times like these; times that will try your patience, love and even your commitment. CoupleDumb is discussing weathering the storms of life this week. Today we will discuss dealing with crises that occur outside of your home.

Since we write a relationship advice blog, we realize that the simple answer might not be as simple as it seems. The simple answer to the question of how to have a great relationship is communication. How do you have a well-adjusted child? Self-esteem. See, easy one word (with a hyphen) answers. Of course, the part where you learn to communicate can be written into a book that rivals the Bible in length and small-fontedness.
