And Mickey loves us.

When you have three kids, taking a vacation can be financially straining. However, the strain could be worse if your kids are in different age groups. We happen to have an almost 17 year old girl, 6 year old boy and three year old. Going somewhere where all of them can have a good time is almost impossible. Lest we forget it would be nice if Mom and Dad enjoyed themselves as well.

So last month, we had several celebrations aside from the holidays. The one birthday that tends to get less attention is our youngest’s birthday on December 30th.  Most of the family was out of town until New Years Eve and we were left to celebrate the little man’s third birthday on our own. Living in Miami, Orlando tends to be the get away place for most family because it offers so many entertainment possibilities and, since we are originally from Los Angeles, the whole Disneyland thing is ingrained in us. We decided to spend the day at Disneyworld but then had to stop and think, ‘Which park would we all enjoy?’

To be honest, the adults are partial to Epcot while the boys enjoy the characters and not-so scary rides and the teenage girl wants the roller coasters. So I left it up to the three of them. The teenager and the boys went to her room and researched the Disneyworld Park website. Less than 15 minutes later they came out saying they wanted Animal Kingdom! They all agreed and were excited by the choice. Can you imagine? All of them were excited about the same place.

So thanks to Disney for a couple of media passes for us and Ricky’s Birthday pass, we were able to have a great time for less than a pizza party at that place that shall not be mentioned. Disney has it all and we can’t wait to go back and explore some more!

This year you can participate in their Give a Day Get a Disney Day program. Volunteer at one of their participating non-profits and get a free pass to a park. What a beautiful way to give back to your community. Better yet, get a huge group together and do something great for Florida!

We were provided with two media passes by Disney. Honestly, we would sing their praises for free!
